Spotfund

Description: A social micro-donations platform that allows users to financially impact the causes they care about. Spotfund democratizes giving by capping donations at $1, 2, 3.

Sonad

Description: Shazam meets RetailMeNot. Sonad uses Fast Fourier Transforms (FFT) and Digital Signal Processing to convert inaudible signals (outside of the human hearing range) into a numerical identifier in order to present users with a second screen experience during radio and television commercials.

Veil of Ignorance

Description: A strategy game, based on Political Philosopher John Rawls’ Veil of Ignorance thought experiment, in which players choose the social and economic parameters of the game world but not the social standing, gender, or personal attributes of the player’s character. There are currently 64 possible playable worlds. In each game hundreds of randomly generated non-playable characters follow their own optimal life strategy with the help an elegant AI algorithm.


Parkarr

Description: Parkarr is a community-driven street parking app with a points/reward system that incentivizes users to exchange their parking spot with another Parkarr user. Parkarr uses Parse as a back-end database, features Apple Mapkit with routing, rewards presented by Kiip, remote push notifications, and multiple log-in options. Parkarr was a finalist is Fast Company’s 2017 World Changing Ideas Awards.

Welli

Description: Welli is a suite of positive psychology tools which includes a gratitude journal, a flow survey, and a DIY-cognitive behavioral therapy tool called the Adversity Disputer. Welli uses Realm as a back-end database, and Apple’s Touch ID for security.
